Why We Built This Site
Wake County publishes phone information across many separate offices. The county department directory is the main local-government starting point, while Raleigh, Cary, Apex, and Wake Forest each maintain different municipal contact paths. WCPSS has its own searchable staff directory, NC State and Wake Tech publish campus directories, and public-safety lines split between 911, 988, 211, Cary 311, Raleigh-Wake non-emergency dispatch, and town-specific police lines. Add the North Carolina state government directory, the FCC, NANPA, and the North Carolina Utilities Commission, and the picture gets crowded fast. We pull together the lookup tools, contact methods, and reference data for each of these in one place.
What You Will Find Here
- Pages by phone topic: phone area codes, phone numbers, and phone codes
- Local directory contacts: city staff, county government, K-12 school district, university, public library, major utilities, public safety
- Directory walkthroughs: how to use Wake County, Raleigh, Cary, WCPSS, NC State, Wake Tech, court, utility, and hospital phone directories
- Phone numbering reference: the 919 and 984 area codes serving Wake County, local exchange (NXX) prefixes, N11 service codes (211 / 311 / 911 / 988), vertical service codes, and toll-free prefixes
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Wake County office, North Carolina state agency, school district, utility, telecommunications carrier, or directory operator. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot place calls on your behalf or connect you to a department
- We cannot change anyone's directory listing, add a number, or remove a listing
- We cannot verify the identity of someone who called you
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific scam call applies to your situation
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, area code, or directory link on this site is current right now
Only the originating office can confirm a current phone number or change a listing. For emergencies, dial 911. For a mental-health or suicidal crisis, dial 988.
